Kahekili Beach

Kahekili Beach

Named for Kahekili, “the thunder”

This beach carries the name of Kahekili, the last great ruling chief of Maui, whose name means "the thunder." His people said he was so fierce that he tattooed half his body black.

Below the calm water, the reef is a protected fish sanctuary where honu come to graze and rest.
