Wailea
“Water of Lea”, goddess of canoe makers
Wailea means “water of Lea,” the goddess who watched over canoe builders and the forests their koa trees came from. The sandy path connecting these coves is one of the loveliest sunset walks on the island, with Kahoʻolawe and Molokini sitting out on the horizon.
