ʻŌpule Filigree
ʻŌpule — the ornate wrasse, a jewel painted in pink and green
An ʻōpule crosses a shaft of sunlight and every line on its body lights up — emerald green drawn over with pink and blue filigree, as fine as anything an artist ever painted.
Wrasse are the reef's busy spirits, always moving, always hunting tiny creatures among the coral. This one pauses just long enough for the light to admire it.
