Koholā Cathedral
Koholā — the humpback whale, singer of the winter sea
Deep in the sapphire water, a mother koholā glides with her calf tucked close beside her. Sunbeams fall around them like light through the windows of a great cathedral.
Every winter the humpbacks cross thousands of miles of open ocean to breed and calve in Hawaiʻi's warm water. Their songs travel for miles through the blue — the largest voices on Earth, singing to one another.
