Ānuenue at the Falls

Ānuenue — rainbow

Waterfalls make their own weather. Spray rises from the plunge pool, sun catches the mist, and suddenly an ānuenue stretches across the gorge like it has been waiting there all morning.

The pool below glows green where light reaches the stones. Ferns drink from the air, moss grips the basalt, and the rainbow turns falling water into a doorway of color.
