Moa in the Garden

Moa in the Garden

Moa — chicken

Island chickens move like they own the path because, in many gardens, they do. A rooster steps through the wet leaves in full color while hens scratch calmly under hibiscus and banana shade.

Moa came across the Pacific with voyagers and later mixed with plantation-era flocks and every bird that found freedom afterward. Their morning calls are not background noise so much as one of the island's clocks.
