The Coral Nursery

Small chromis hover above branching coral to catch plankton, then vanish between the branches when danger passes overhead. The colony is pantry, playground, and fortress all at once.

Juvenile reef fish depend on complex coral structure for shelter. The more nooks and passages a reef holds, the more young lives it can protect.
