Master's Mixed Lei
“Lei hulu makua” — the master weaver’s lei
A mixed lei is where a weaver shows their hand: several flowers, several techniques — wili, haku, humupapa — combined so no single bloom dominates. In Hawaiʻi the skill is passed down within families rather than taught from a book.
