Ōhia Lehua Lei

ʻŌhiʻa lehua is sacred to Pele, and the old story says that picking the blossom brings rain — the tears of two lovers she turned into tree and flower. ʻŌhiʻa is also the first tree to grow on new lava, making it the pioneer of Hawaiian forests.
