Lilikoi
Passionfruit was introduced in the 1880s and took its Hawaiian name from Lilikoi Gulch on Maui, where an early planting escaped into the hills.
Lilikoi butter, chiffon pie, and shave-ice syrup all grew out of that one wandering vine.
