Keoneʻōʻio
“The bonefish sands”
Keoneʻōʻio, "the bonefish sands," is better known as La Pérouse Bay, after the French explorer who anchored here in 1786. The jagged lava around it flowed from Haleakalā's last eruption.
Spinner dolphins often rest in the deep blue bay in the morning.
