Two Dolphins Playing

Spinner dolphins play for the sake of playing. They blow rings of air, chase them, swim through them, and hand them off to each other — and researchers who watch the same pods year after year see the same friendships repeating, the same two animals seeking each other out to do nothing useful at all.
