Box Jellyfish
Pololia — small, clear, and serious
Hawaiʻi's box jellyfish arrive in the leeward shallows about eight to ten days after a full moon, so reliably that lifeguards post the calendar. Small and nearly invisible, each of the four corners of that clear box carries a cluster of eyes — twenty-four in all, some with lenses and retinas.
