Gold-Lace Nudibranch
Lace drawn in gold on black
The gold-lace nudibranch grazes on sponge and takes the sponge's chemical defenses for itself, which is why it can afford to be this conspicuous. Those feathery plumes on its back are gills, worn on the outside — nudibranch means “naked gills.”
