Hawaiian Monk Seal

ʻĪlioholoikauaua — “the dog that runs in rough water” — is the Hawaiian monk seal, found nowhere else and one of the rarest seals on earth, with only about fifteen hundred left. They dive hundreds of feet for octopus and eel, then haul out to sleep on warm sand.
