Imperial Nudibranch

Pink and orange on new snow

The imperial nudibranch feeds on sponges and lays its eggs in a delicate coiled ribbon on the reef. Hermaphroditic like most sea slugs, any two adults that meet can mate — a practical arrangement for an animal that travels a few feet a day.
