Parrotfish
Uhu — the parrotfish
Uhu, the parrotfish, has teeth fused into a beak and a second set of grinding plates in its throat. It bites coral rock, digests the algae, and passes the rest as fine white sand — much of a Hawaiian beach is parrotfish sand, which means uhu quite literally built the place you sunbathe.
