Lei on the Lānai

Lei on the Lānai

Fresh blossoms are gathered cool, sorted gently and kept damp until it is time to string them. Each flower is pierced once and eased down the cord so the petals stay open and unbruised.

A lei carries the time of the maker as surely as it carries fragrance. Given for welcome, honor, affection or farewell, it is meant to be received with the same care that placed every blossom beside the next.
