The Plantation Store

The Plantation Store

The plantation general store was the center of camp life. It sold rice, boots, kerosene and candy, ran a post office in the corner, and extended credit until payday.

Many of the ones still standing are the oldest buildings in their towns. The benches on the porch are older than most of the conversations that have happened on them.
