Kula Persimmon

Kula Persimmon

Kula's cool upcountry air is what a persimmon loves — a fruit that hangs on bare branches like small orange lanterns each autumn.

The trees arrived from Asia and found a second home on the slopes of Haleakalā, where the fruit ripens slow and sweet in the mountain light.
