Hīhīmanu in the Blue
Hīhīmanu — the spotted eagle ray
A hīhīmanu does not hurry. It flies beneath the surface with the same calm confidence a bird has in open sky, each spotted wing lifting sunlight from the sand below.
The reef falls quiet for a moment as it passes. Then the little fish return to their errands, and the ray becomes a constellation moving toward deeper blue.
