The truck is sun-faded, the beach path is sandy, and the dog already knows where they are going. An ʻīlio in the back is an island copilot, nose lifted to every scent carried in from the water.

Old pickups earn their dents hauling boards, coolers, plants and half the neighborhood. This one has done all of that, but today its most important cargo is pure anticipation.
