Passionflower

Passionflower

An introduced garden vine used in herbal traditions for rest

Passionflower's intricate purple crown looks almost handwoven among rain-bright vines. It is an introduced garden plant, and medicinal varieties should never be confused with ornamental or wild relatives.

Simple recipe: use commercially prepared dried Passiflora incarnata leaf, steep the labeled amount in hot water, and strain before bedtime. Do not forage or substitute wild vines, and check with a clinician if pregnant, sedated, or taking medicines.
