Sugarcane
Kō — sweet cane for strength and refreshment
Purple-green kō catches the sun along every joint while the long leaves flicker in the trade wind. Its sweetness once helped strong plant preparations go down more gently.
Simple recipe: run peeled, washed sugarcane through a proper cane press, pour the fresh juice over ice, and brighten it with a squeeze of lime. Enjoy a small glass soon after pressing.
