Scarlet Honeycreeper
ʻIʻiwi — the scarlet honeycreeper
From a high ʻōhiʻa branch, ʻIʻiwi surveys a valley stitched with mist and morning light. Its curved bill and the lehua blossom seem shaped by the same patient hand, each sustaining the other in the mountain forest.
