Rainbow eucalyptus is native to the Philippines, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea, not Hawaiʻi.

As strips of outer bark shed, the fresh green layer beneath slowly changes through blue, purple, orange, and brown, creating the tree's remarkable bands.
