Kāheka — tide pool
At low tide a kāheka becomes a window into the reef. Clouds move across the surface while anemones open below, and tiny fish hold in place with barely a flick of the tail.
The black basalt rim was shaped by fire, then softened by salt and time. Tide pools reward stillness: the longer you wait, the more the small world trusts you enough to appear.
