Used for: in lāʻau lapaʻau, the juice of the ripe white berries was used for sore eyes, and the leaves were applied to cuts and skin troubles.

How to use: crush a few clean leaves and lay them over a minor scrape for a cooling compress; leave eye remedies to trained practitioners. Its legend of parted lovers is its own kind of medicine.
