Ulu — Breadfruit

In tradition, the god Ku turned himself into an ulu tree to feed his starving family, and the tree became a symbol of provision.

It was ulu that Captain Bligh's Bounty was sent to collect for the Caribbean, and today Hawaii is replanting it as a staple crop again.
