Honu in the Limu Light

In the sunny shallows, honu lower their ancient faces to the basalt and graze the bright limu that waves there. Yellow tangs and butterflyfish pass like little sparks in the water.

Nothing about the moment is rushed. The turtles know the rhythm of tide, stone, and appetite, and the reef makes room for their slow morning meal.
