- What is Pictaria?
- Pictaria turns photographs into calm, playable tile puzzles. Most of the pictures are of Hawaiʻi — beaches, reef life, sea turtles, flowers, waterfalls and island food — and you can turn one of your own photos into a puzzle to send to someone you love. See every album
- How do I play?
- Choose a picture, then drag one tile onto another to swap their places. Tiles that belong together join up and move as one, until the whole photograph is back in place. If you would like a hint, the preview button beneath the board shows the finished picture for a moment.
- How do I turn my own photo into a puzzle?
- On the Send a free Pictaria page, add one photograph, give it a title and a little note, and Pictaria gives you a link to your puzzle. You will be asked for your email address first. Your first one is free. Make a Pictaria from your photo
- Can I send a puzzle to someone?
- Yes. Every Pictaria you make has its own link that you can text or email. The person you send it to opens the link, sees your picture whole, then plays it in their browser — they do not need an account.
- Do I need to download an app?
- No. Pictaria plays in your web browser on a phone, tablet or computer.
- How hard are the puzzles?
- Every picture can be played at four sizes: 3×3 Relaxing (9 pieces), 4×4 Engaging (16 pieces), 5×5 Intriguing (25 pieces), 6×6 Challenging (36 pieces). Start gently and go bigger whenever you like.
- Is Pictaria free?
- You can play Pictaria puzzles in your browser without paying, and your first puzzle made from your own photo is free. Paid plans add your own albums and the Pictaria photo studio. Compare the plans
- How much do the paid plans cost?
- Toe in the Water: $1.85 a week — turn your own photos into puzzles, make albums for the week, add captions and recipes, and send them anywhere. Artist Studio: $7.95 a month or $69.95 a year — six albums of up to ten of your own photos each, the complete Pictaria photo studio, captions and recipes, and sharing as video. Permanent Album: $2.95 one time — unlock any Pictaria album for good. Brand Studio: $59 a month or $495 a year — for businesses: your logo, unlimited albums, analytics, action buttons and trackable QR codes. Includes 500 engagements a month, then 3¢ each.
